A cruise: sailing live better

As much as I love the sea and how much I like to surf, I have to confess that the cruise industry has never been my forte. I'm not a traveling mass, so it's never too seduced me the idea to lock in a huge boat turns meals and fights able to lay in a hammock. I have nothing against, but not my ideal trip. I do not like waiting lists.

Despite this, 2014 was the year of the cruise for me, as it was the year I decided to try two of them, and although very different, both met my tastes. The last one was aboard the neoRiviera (http://www.costacruceros.es/e/costa_neoriviera.html), belonging to Costa Cruises. It was a short journey that started from Barcelona and landed at Salerno, in total were about 5 days on board with 2 scales, one in Sicily and one in Malta. Costa Cruises has been eager, and much love, when marketing to this new way to cruise neoCollection under its brand, which is nothing more than trying to fit a type of traveler who, like me, a little escapes of the masses, looking for a more personalized service and travel is taken in stride. The main feature of the neoCollection is also betting on the fact most exclusive destinations, outside traditional circuits cruises, and which adds to the duration of the scale in these destinations is greater haste to leave a side. Here we have come to enjoy.
Costa_neoRiviera_Bon voyage As I said, my scales were Sicily and Malta. The first I know of plenty, because it is also one of my favorite destinations and where I try to escape each year at least 2 or 3 days to unwind. Still, even though I have traveled several times, the scale of neoRiviera helped me to discover an unknown part of Sicily, the Zingaro Nature Reserve, an impressive corner perfect for virgin routes (the best heels leave the cabin) and visit some of the most beautiful bays of Sicily, with that so traditional Mediterranean clear water.Second, Malta, although were almost 12 hours of free time, I could only meet its capital Valletta, where I could also have fun so well .
Costa_neoRiviera_Bon voyage2The remaining days were onboard navigation. Come on, make no mistake, the boat is great. There are 624 cabins , of which 94 are suites, all with private balcony. But the feeling is not to be in a theme park (no noise and lights everywhere), never lose your sense of navigation, of being on a boat. That is, for me, the positive part. On my cabin, I was housed in a Premium outside of roughly 13m² and of course window. As I mentioned, my cruise experience is not extensive, so I can not compare much, but otherwise the bathroom-a little small- and reduced storage space for shoes (perhaps 10 pairs of shoes are needed for five days cruising but that's another story), the rest, very comfortable, especially their beds, mattresses and pillows are simply sensational and that is welcome.
Costa_neoRiviera_Bon voyage4Highlights : So in my case, as in the rest of colleagues with whom I shared the experience, I prefer the cuisine on board. I think we always provide quality food to as many people without getting a shred quality should be difficult, but in the case of neoRiviera confirm that embroider. The best? Buy fresh and typical of places where the scales are made and product design gourmet menus typical of the region prepared in collaboration with the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo.
Unusual to say that aboard a ship of more than 600 cabins have tasted some of the best pasta dishes in my life (and pasta above!), But it was. Of course also I applaud their wine selection, supported by the Italian Association of Sommeliers and applaud just as there are no shifts for lunch or dinner , the hours are quite flexible (and what danger, because of course, in the end you spend the day eating ). Luckily it has a spectacular gym in the stern with great treadmills. And honestly, but do not go to use it, well worth it to let yourself fall only to see its views, has a privileged location on the boat. Like has its Spa, with products of the British company Elemis. The list of treatments and massages are not included in the price you pay for the cruise, but it's worth, and much, just take a relaxing massage by lying on that stretcher overlooking the infinite; this is one of the best experiences I take from this trip, coupled with the permanent feeling of freedom that makes me navigate .
Will another year 2015 cruise? We'll see.
