Few know that Sitges liveliest places. For family reasons I have the good fortune to spend many weekends in this beautiful city in the Costa del Garraf,
located 40 kilometers from Barcelona, where something is always
happening beyond bombings as the carnival or the film festival;
a jazz band down the street, castellers in the middle of the square a
typical Sunday, the popular fair ... here cover the Festivities last all
year. No matter what, in Sitges there is always something to celebrate.
2. An evening stroll through the church of St. Bartholomew and Santa Tecla. It is the most recognizable building in the skyline of the city and a symbol of Sitges. It is the church of the postcard. At his side, the colors are amazing sunset from the Plaza del Baluard on the Paseo de la Ribera.
To the side of the church is the famous cannon, pointing out to sea, he
protected the city from the relentless British attacks by sea.
Celebrations aside, whenever I spent a couple of days in Sitges I like to make some plans that are essential (and if I like something, I repeat obsessively. I am a girl of customs). But beyond cinema and parties, here are my 5 favorite relaxed plans:
1. Time of vermouth in the cable: there is only one thing that saddens me the best tapas bar in Sitges, and not having known before! Still I do not know how he found out, but it was a few months ago, and took nearly three years regulamente visiting Sitges; I have no forgiveness ... Open since 1940, is an institution in the city and its tapas are comparable to those of my dear Logroño (my way of measuring the quality of tapas). Rich and cheap, as it should be. They are the best whitewater in Sitges. And I'm not exaggerating ...
3. A morning of golf at Club Terramar: can be, and I think it is one of the most beautiful golf clubs where I have been. Most of its 18 holes enjoying spectacular views of the sea and, although not cheap, worth it. It also has a pitch and putt for a little more amateur players. And do not even play golf no problem, thanks to its unique location, its cafe-restaurant is ideal for lunch or an aperitif.
4. A paella with sea
in Cal Pinxo: a gastronomic institution in Sitges where to find, if you
know the best, but a delicious paella, especially vegetables, my
favorite. It overlooks the sea and excellent service.
It is not cheap, that's the truth, because in addition Sitges is a
pretty tourist town and that influences especially in the restoration,
but well worth booking a table (essential) to eat at one of the best restaurants in Sitges.
5. Beaches, coves and others ... You have to spend a morning, an afternoon or a whole day in any of the lively beaches of Sitges. I like very much the center as Fragata beach, next to the Church of St. Bartholomew (see point 2), but inevitably are always very crowded, especially in summer. If you have overwhelmed many people around, you can always opt for quieter areas like Terramar beach, facing the residential neighborhood of the same name.
